The biomass plants are investment fund owned and are managed by Aviva investors on behalf of the fund. Clark Degnan Consulting Engineers were employed to conduct non-invasive surveys and inspections of existing electrical safety systems and specifically emergency lighting systems for each biomass plant. Simulated calculations of the existing emergency lighting installations were carried out to establish the illumination levels for both general and emergency lighting systems. Survey observations and simulation results were combined in a report to summarise the condition of the installation and the level of compliance with the Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) Code for lighting 2012, and the Code of Practice for the Emergency Lighting of Premises (BS 5266:2016).
